Parts for Arctic Cat ATV
Arctic Cat was born from the same vision that spawned Polaris Industries, one of America’s foremost authorities in snowmobiles. In 1960, Edgar Hetteen founded the company that would later be known as Arctic Cat as a direct competitor to his previous business venture. Hetteen and company enjoyed a prosperous initial run during the mid 1960s through 1970s but as snowmobile popularity began to avalanche, so did the income and Hetteen was forced to declare bankruptcy in 1982. Two years later, Edgar Hetteen returned with a small personal army of business investors and relaunched his company, now called Arctco. The first products to come from the newly-launched Arctco brand were Arctic Cat snowmobiles. The Arctic Cat snowmobile was an instant hit and its success led to the company developing their very first ATV in 1996 called the Bearcat 454. Unlike other Japanese ATV manufacturers who’d put an emphasis on motocross and off-road racing performance, Artco based their products on functionality and utility. As such, these ATVs featured a higher ground clearance than most others, lower gear ratios for towing, large steel hauling racks, and larger fuel tanks for extended range. The Bearcat’s popularity resulted in an official name change for the company from Arctco to the widely-recognized Arctic Cat moniker. Arctic Cat ATVs such as the Wildcat, Alterra, XC450, DVX 400 and new models including the TBX 700 EPS, VLX 700, Mudpro, and big bore 1000 XT EPS are prime examples of the company’s commitment to real life, working world performance, rock-solid durability, and die-hard reliability.
